"To boldly go where no man / no one has gone before…"

A guaranteed original U.S. one sheet movie poster from 1979 for the genre defining sci-fi, "Star Trek - The Motion Picture".

This was the first of the film spin-offs from Gene Roddenberry's original TV series and starred the original 1960's cast, William Shatner (as Captain James T. Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (as Mr. Spock), DeForest Kelley (as Dr. "Bones" McCoy), James Doohan (as Commander Montgomery "Scotty" Scott), George Takei (as Lieutenant Commander Hikaru Sulu), Walter Koenig (as Chekov) and Nichelle Nichols (as Lieutenant Commander Uhura).

The artwork of this wonderful poster is by legendary movie poster artist Bob Peak (you can find out more about him in our blog). It is stunning, with the rainbow rays echoing the Enterprise's transporter! Unusually for the time, it was never folded! As our photos show, it is an incredible example of a truly iconic poster for a truly iconic sci-fi series.

With new films in production (apparently Quentin Tarantino still has a script sitting on his desk), the Star Trek cinematic universe continues to grow. This poster is where it all started.

We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.

Note: This poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
